On April 15th 2016 Manchester Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu proudly held the 3rd Annual Blackbelts for Butterflies Benefit Seminar. Once again black belts from across the country came to CT to donate their time and teach some amazing jiu-jitsu. The lineup included some returning black belts Anthony Mitchell from MS, Brian Beaury from NY, and Jason Bell and Tony Gioffre from right here in CT. We added from the Sunshine State Rob Kahn, Robbie Donofrio, and Renato Tavares. And to finish up the lineup Luigi Mondelli from CT and Tim Blackstone from MN.
We had some amazing sponsors donate gear for raffle including Shoyoroll, Oss Clothing, and Choke Aloha. In the end, we were able to raise over $10,000.00 for Dylan’s Wings of Change. The foundation that was set up by Ian and Nicole Hockley for their son Dylan who was taken at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The seminar was more than just jiu-jitsu, once again this struck a chord with many of the attendees. Many of the black belts shared personal stories and aligned with the same notion of creating a positive impact on those around you and making the difference in your community. We look forward to hosting the next Blackbelts for Butterflies in CT come 2017 and will continue to support this and many other positive events!
